Sheffield-based recruitment agency Glu Recruit has announced that Routes Hair Loss Solutions will be its charity partner for the next year, with the team planning a number of fundraising missions across the next 12-months in support of the cause.
Rachel Burgin the Founder of Routes Hair Extensions Ltd, one of the UK and USA’s leading brands in luxury Remy human hair extensions, established the Routes Hair Loss Solutions charity in 2018 with a view to give something back to those suffering from medical hair loss.
Routes Hair Loss Solutions is dedicated to providing 100% human hairpieces and wigs free of charge to patients suffering from medical hair loss and supports its clients in regaining their inner confidence and benefitting from a beautiful new head of hair without the financial worry.
Rachel uses charitable donations to hand-craft bespoke wigs and hair pieces that are cut and coloured to her clients’ specific requests. In addition, she provides video tutorials to her clients based across the UK to ensure that they are comfortable with fitting the hair pieces.
A cause very close to the hearts of the Glu Recruit team, as their Head of Client Partnerships, Lisa Betsworth, faced her own battle with cancer in 2018, the team are delighted to be focussing their fundraising on the charity.
Rob Shaw, Managing Director at Glu Recruit said: “When choosing our charity of the year, it was extremely important to me that it resonated with our staff members and fit in with the company’s culture and values.
“Here at Glu we’re very close knit and seeing first-hand the impact that Routes made on Lisa’s life was astonishing, it’s my absolute pleasure to have chosen them to be our Charity of the Year.”
In celebration of the business’ multiple milestones, having announced its merger with recruitment agency Tiro earlier in the year and appointed Lisa Betsworth as Head of Client Partnerships, Glu is hosting a charity quiz next month to share their success with the local business community and raise money for Routes Hair Loss Solutions.
Lisa Betsworth, Head of Client Partnerships, added: “Routes Hair Loss Solutions is such a fantastic charity and is so close to my heart. Having lost my hair to cancer I was struggling with my confidence and didn’t feel like myself at all, but Routes brought all of that back and I’m now clear of cancer and enjoying life!
“At our upcoming quiz, we hope to raise as much money as possible and raise awareness for this brilliant charity!”
Last year, Glu Recruit supported leading UK charity Action for Children and, in doing so, raised in excess of £1,000 for the cause.
"When choosing our charity of the year, it was extremely important to me that it resonated with our staff members and fit in with the companys culture and values."
